Overcoming Procrastination

Several emotional issues are very often found behind lack of motivation. Unrecognized and unresolved grief, broken heart, midlife crisis, and fears (such as fear of unknown or fear of failure, fear of rejection and so on) are most common.  Other issues, to name some, could be stress, lack of goal and purpose, being overwhelmed by the size of a task, wrong planning, perfectionism, lack of skills and even some health problems.

However, lack of motivation could be also just a pure bad habit. That happens when out of your conscious awareness you unconsciously have negative expectations and that force you procrastinate and or do not act at all.

What to Expect

After an initial short phone or e-mail consultation we schedule an in-person (or via Skype) assessment session.  But before the assessment session I send you a simple intake form to fill out and send me back by e-mail or post mail. Or, if you prefer, we fill it out together during the assessment session. However, when I have it before the assessment session it saves us a lot of time.

The assessment session is free of charge. During that session we have a chance to get to know each other. Then I gather information to determine if there any emotional issue behind your lack of motivation or it is just a habit. I pay particular attention to your unconscious reactions which can be monitored observing your nonverbal behavior. Finally, I use couple of techniques to find out if I can help you or not. The assessment also highlights how many sessions you would need. If I can help you, I describe how the process goes, how many sessions it might take and what is your investment. Then you receive answers on all your questions and make a decision.

We start with understanding what you want. If I find that behind the lack of motivation is grief or broken heart, we go through the process to resolve the emotions. If there is a fear we first find its protective function and preserve it then resolve it. In sum, if there is any emotional issue we resolve it  first.

When it is just a bad habit then I guide you through a special set of technique designed to help recoding your body/mind in a way that you react to the same trigger that used to make you demotivated, differently, in a way you want.

Then I teach you several techniques how to motivate yourself and we solidify that knowledge and skills with hypnosis.

It takes mostly one or two sessions to learn motivational techniques and then you are equipped with techniques and skills to motivate yourself for the rest of your life. Moreover, you also learn how to recognize if there is an emotional issue behind your lack of motivation if it occurs in the future all by yourself and find how to resolve it.

The same techniques you can learn when you take individual classes or workshops. The only difference is that individual sessions are uniquely targeting your issue and it takes less time to master skills and achieve results.
